Deputation Updates, and What God is Doing!

We were in Ohio in September, Michigan, and Arkansas in October, and now we are in Tennessee for the month of November.

God has done so many great things over the past several months. 

Even though we weren't due to be back in the US until October, Bro Coffey was able to book us a quick deputation through Ohio in September!

We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful organization that will be there no matter what!

So much has happened over the span of this deputation, and God just keeps moving!

While in Ohio, and Michigan me and Ezekiel were making weekend and mid week trips to these states since they were so close to where we were staying in Indiana, but Arkansas and Tennessee are so much further.

While we were in Arkansas we stayed at the evangelist quarters at Bethel Church, and Pastor Tidwell was a great host! 

We also got to spend quite a bit of time with the Arkansas Missions Director Elder Stokes, and the Superentendant Pastor Nooner. We also got to know quite a few of the church members, and be part of their fall parties! 

On our last day in Arkansas we had two blowout services!

The first was at Pastor Keith Stokes church, and during the service Ezekiel blew it up while sharing his testimony. 

At the end of the service the Pastor called us up, and began to prophecy things that were going to happen to me, Ezekiel, and our family. 

Over the past 3 weeks we have saw these prophecies come to pass, and God is confirming the words that were spoken. 

At the beginning of November me and Ezekiel was able to make a quick 4 day trip back to Indiana to see Sis Marshall, Adrianna, and the rest of our family. 

When we got home it was such a surprise. Harley, and Sis Marshall had made a thanksgiving meal, and our family came for a great dinner! 

They kept asking me where we were, and telling me to take my time. I had no idea what they was up to, but it was such a great surprise!

On November 2 my wife and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary!

On November 5 me and Ezekiel hit the road again, in route to Memphis. 

After we were in Memphis for a couple of days we found a Bass Pro Shop, and when we got there it was such a great surprise. We went to the worlds largest Bass Pro, and had a blast! We spent hours inside just making our way through. I can't wait to take Adrianna to Memphis to see this place!

While in Memphis we had the honor and privilege to stay at the evangelist quarters at Pastor Mark Johnson's Church, and spend some time with him while we were there. 

From great services to a tour of downtown it was top notch hosting!

On our last day in Memphis we stopped by Gus's Chicken to have lunch with our dear friends Kenny, and Virginia Riggins. 

We had a couple of hours of great fellowship, and when we finished up we headed to the parking lot. There was a man that was setting pretty close to us, and he was alone, but had been there for quite a long time. 

After we went out, he came out shortly after, and followed us to our car. He reached out, and grabbed my hand, and began to speak into my life. 

He began prophesying things that confirmed other prophecies that had been spoken over the past weeks, and as he spoke the Holy Ghost began to fall. 

I receive the words that he spoke, and can't wait to see what God is going to do next!

I am so blessed to serve the Kingdom of God!

We are currently staying in Savannah TN at Pastor Robinson's evangelist quarters, and have been having a great time here! 

The church, and the people here are great! The Robinson's have treated us wonderful! 

Yesterday me and Ezekiel was able to go to the pickwick village, and have a great meal at a little 1800's style goldmine restaurant.

We have 3-4 more services before NYC (one is still unconfirmed), but we are so excited to see y'all there!

It's Been A While, But I am Back!

 This week we will be talking about the first leg of deputation, along with some crazy things that have happened over the past month or so. 

It has been a very great start to our deputation, and we can't wait to see what God is going to do!

Family Podcast 2022

 So many people don't think about the family that is left behind when a missionary goes into the field. 

What about those that are married, the grandkids, and the ones who are completely behind the scenes? 

This week we will be hearing from our entire family. 

Ezekiel, Adrianna, Sis Marshall, and myself will be joined by our oldest two children, Daniel, and Harley, along with their spouses Breanna, and James. 

Of course we will have our granddaughter Roselee in studio as well!

We're Safe, and Back in America

 It is bittersweet, but we are back in the US. 

We are staying in Connersville, IN waiting on deputation. 

We are continuing to pray for the situation in PNG, but it is getting worse rather than better.

The UN has been requested to come in, the mall the kids were going to to get out is now unsafe. 17 were killed outside the same place our kids were just hours ago. 

5 provinces have failed in the election, and there have been several reported murders over the past week. 

This is now the worst recorded election in PNG history. There have been more deaths, and more arrest than any other election. 

Please remember PNG in your prayers during this time of unrest.

On next week's episode I will have all of our children, and our granddaughter on the podcast. I feel it is important for people to hear what they have to say, and how they feel when we are in the field, and when things begin to collapse. There were 72 critical hours where things got bad enough for our superiors to tell us it is time to come to the US, and our kids were scared for our safety.

A Quick Update on Our Situation Please Continue To Pray

 It's been a crazy, hectic, and unpredictable week. 

Silas is still here, but the election violence continues to grow. We have evacuated Mount Hagen and came to Port Moresby for safety reasons, and are waiting things out here. 

If things continue to escalate we are unsure of what we may have to do short term. 

It has been a rough, and exhausting few days, and we are just holding on to hope. 

Please pray for PNG, our Pastors, Churches, and Saints.

Well, It's Election Week In Hagen...Pray Church

 It has been a pretty crazy week here in PNG. 

Silas is getting settled in good here at the headquarters, and seems to really like it here. We were able to convert my office into a bedroom so he would have his own space while he is here, and it is working out pretty well!

Sunday we had another great service at Anglimp Outreach, and Silas got a chance to greet the church for the first time, and Ezekiel interpreted for him! It was such a great Experience!

This week is election week, but everything has been postponed due to riots here in the Western Highlands. Please continue to pray for us! 7 People were shot Monday, and I am sure the tally will continue to grow. 

During elections here in PNG civil unrest is very bad, and there is a lot of fighting. We are just planning on staying close to home for the next few days and laying low. 

On my podcast this week (Link at the top of the page) I shared some exciting news about things happening here in PNG, as well as Solomon Islands, and Fiji. 

Bro Sio gave a home bible study to a man who come to find out owns a night club. The owner closed the club, and donated it to the ALJC, and it has now had 2 services held there. 

On the second week a man came, and was under conviction. Bro Sio baptized him in the name of Jesus Christ, and come to find out he was a pastor. The pastor said he sees the truth, and has now baptized his congregation in the name of Jesus Christ, and donated his church to the ALJC! 

2 Churches in 2 Weeks!!

During our conference in Fiji we had 13 ministers come as guest, and they all want to come to the ALJC! They are the only members of an organization, and they are looking for more guidance, We are in talks about the next steps we need to take to make it happen!

The organization has 10 churches, and will double the size of the work in Fiji!

Thank God for the revival he has poured out on the South Pacific!!

Ezekiel's Visa Was Approved, Silas is Here, and Revival Is Happening!

Thank you all for praying for Ezekiel's Visa!

We were able to get his visitors visa approved for the next 60 days while I work on an extension for another 30 to make it to conference!

As many have heard me say immigration is often times one of our biggest hurdles, and we are just thankful that we were able to get him approved to come back!

We made it through customs, and back home with no issues!

Sunday we had the opportunity to hear Joseph Amuk preach at Anglimp Outreach, and he done such a great job!

2 were convicted, and baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ! 

After service we headed over to Kagamuga Airport, and picked up Silas who will be with us over the next 2 months! 

We are excited to see what God has in store, and are happy to see him experience PNG!

I still have much to share about the revival here in the South Pacific but that will be on next week's update!

Some Fiji Updates, and What God is Doing in the South Pacific

 Fiji was great!

We had a great move of God at our first National Conference, and I have some really exciting news about what God is doing that I will be releasing over the next couple of weeks. 

All I have to say is WOW!!!!!

We have established our constitution, and licensed several ministers in Fiji, and God gets all the Glory!

We have been able to get 11 ID cards, and ministerial Certificates to our ministers in Fiji Here Is some info so you can see them, and know who you're praying for, and what they look like!

We had some great teaching, and ministering for 3 days and nights! God showed up, and we saw miracles signs and wonders! 

On the last night we got to see healings, and the Lord began to move in the gift of prophecy. 

I can't wait to hear the great things that happen over the next several weeks, and months.

Excitement, Emotion, and Exhaustion

It has been a rough week, an emotional week, an exhausting week, but a very good week!

We landed in Fiji on June 15th, and the first thing we noticed when getting of the plane was... Drum Roll?????

Burger King!

Yep we stopped, and had some Burger King at the Nadi Airport before boarding our last flight into Suva. 

After a 3 and a half hour layover in Nadi we had a 30 minute flight to get to our final destination in Suva. 

I had rented a car over a month ago, and was ready to get the car and go to the hotel. After finally finding the car rental area I found out the Hertz guy (company that assured me I would have a car) was not there. 

There was however a very nice lady from Avis who was working that night, and she was very apologetic, and she offered to call the man from Hertz to see what was going on. 

After talking to him he informed me they have no cars in Suva, but they did in Nadi...(3 hour drive). 

Then my wife was talking to this lady from Avis, and while I called the hotel to arrange a shuttle. 

The Avis Representative was named Asma, and she was so kind. 

Not only did she offer to take us to our hotel, but she offered us a car for our time in Fiji. She said she could put us in a 8 passenger van until she could find something else. 

After going to the lot, and filling out the paperwork, we were able to drive away in a brand new Hiace van. 

This thing is HUGE, but is also very nice. 

The funniest part about it is while we are on the road people think it's a taxi, because this is the primary vehicle used for public transportation. 

Everywhere we go people are trying to flag us down, we all just laugh, smile and wave back. 

After having all the issues with the rental car, we then went to the hotel. I had booked our room 2 months in advance to make sure it would accommodate all of us. 

We get there to check in, and they have 4 people in a standard queen room...

Thankfully we were able to get the room I had initially booked, within about 5 minutes, and the price was the same I had already paid. 

We just took in the beauty of Fiji for our first 4 days, and there is a lot of beauty to take in!

We have been to town to check out all of the markets, and shops downtown, and we were able to go to a steakhouse that is on a ship in the ocean to celebrate Ezekiel's 18th birthday. It just so happens that it worked out that Ezekiel's Birthday landed the day after we did! 

On Saturday I got to check off one of my bucket list items, and that was going to the island where they filmed "Cast Away"! Crazy I know, but it is one of my favorite movies. It was a full day cruise with a boat ride, some snorkeling stops, swimming in some of the clearest most beautiful water I have ever been in, lunch, and a great day with the family. 

It was very refreshing to get some down time with my family before we got started with conference time. After loosing my grandpa last week I just had some time to unwind and decompress. I have been pretty edgy, and irritable for the past several days, and the family time really helped me. 

The night we landed we found there was a McDonalds about 5 minutes from our hotel, yep it was about midnight and we drove there to find it was a McDonald's just not a 24 hour one... so sad.

Room service it was! But you better believe we hit McDonald's the next morning! 

Anyone who is from America, and likes fast food has no idea the struggle we face lol!

Burger King was our first fast food in about 16 months. 

Sunday we had our first service with Brother Setoki, and we were able to preach, and have a great service. After the service we had some time to set down, and have lunch together. 

We talked about the organization, and ways we could help equip them for the future. I have committed to helping the Fiji Churches grow, and we were able to come up with some ideas for the future. 

This week I will be meeting our ministers in Fiji to see where some of our biggest needs are to help them progress further. 

This coming week we are preparing for our first National Conference in Fiji!

Here are some pictures from our first few days in Fiji!

No Podcast This Week, Traveling, and Loss of My Grandpa I Need Some Time

 Thank you for understanding. 

This week we were traveling to Fiji, and I lost my grandpa June 11. 

Please remember my family in your prayers during this time.

Even though there is not a podcast this week I wanted to take a little time to explain what it is like when you are a missionary, or someone who is out of the country and can't make it back during times of death.

In August of 2019 I lost my grandma while I was in PNG, and now her husband my grandpa has passed away June of 2022. 

When you are in the field, and can't be there when they pass away, go to the funeral, or see them that final time is very difficult. 

I realize that it is hard on everyone, but when you can't see them, or be with them that one last time it changes things. 

You never really get closure. 

It is so unreal. 

Even with my grandma who I lost in 2019 it still doesn't seem real. 

You know that person is gone forever, and you feel the same emptiness, but it isn't the same as those you are able to be there for. 

No visitation, No funeral, No saying goodbye... It is awful. 

With my grandpa it is different though. 

We talked occasionally on the phone, but couldn't really talk much, because when I would call from PNG it was very hard on him.

Every time I would call he would cry, and then he'd feel bad and apologize, but I would still try to call at least once a month. 

We had a lot of great talks, and I was able to get some closure the last time we talked while he was in the hospital. 

With family things it is also difficult. 

My family is back in the US dealing with everything, and has been great with keeping me in the loop with phone calls, and video chats, but it makes you feel pretty helpless when it comes to the physical labor. 

You feel like more of a burden than a help, because we won't be back in the states until September, and by the time we arrive back in the US all the work will be finished. 

Just a flood of emotions that you have to muddle through on top of the grieving. 

I just wanted to shine a little light, there is a lot more, but this is the cliffs notes version to help you peek into some of the feelings that you have.

If nothing else it helps me try to explain it to some degree.

Pentecost Sunday, and a Prayer Request

 We had a great Pentecost Sunday Service in the Western Highlands. It was hosted at Jerusalem Church in Kelua. 

I preached on Pentecost, and the outpouring of the Holy Ghost, and God showed up! At the end of the sermon we had a great altar call, with people singing, praising, shouting, and dancing!

I also got a call that my grandpa is in failing health. He has fallen down the stairs, and the prognosis is not good. They have found multiple brain bleeds, and he is very disoriented after several days in the hospital. He also has stopped eating, and has not eaten anything since Friday evening at 5:30. 

Please Keep Bill Marshall in your prayers. The Doctor may say no, but if it is his will and God says yes, the Dr's words really have no weight!

It Has Been an Eventful Week To Say The Least!

 We have had a great week!

We had the chance to celebrate Edwin's grades, and take him out for a day of food and fun! 

While we were there, Ezekiel accidentally locked both sets of keys in the car which made for a very eventful afternoon. 

Here we are standing in the parking lot, and EVERYONE decided to come over to help us out. 

2 hours and we finally made it into the car. 

We had everyone from security guards, to store managers, to police, and military trying to unlock our car. 

Finally a lady was there who said she knew a guy that would be able to do it, and she called him, and he was in within 15 minutes! Thank you Jesus!!

It is getting a little closer to elections and the tensions are high. This morning we were able to hear some machine guns firing in the distance, which was unsettling, but God has his hand on us, and we are all okay. 

On Sunday we went to Jordan Church and ordained the Pastor and our Home Missions Director John Konam. 

God is moving, and great things are happening in PNG!

Banging, Clanging, Building, and Preparing

 Well,

We have been talking about building.

We have been talking about buying material.

We have been to the get the quotes, and as you can hear in this weeks podcast the assembling has begun!

We have 8,000 Square feet of a new building to construct!

Several have committed to coming out to help, and Ezekiel learned how to weld today! 

Great things are happening, but as a dear friend of mine always says, "greater days ahead"!
